Şenay Akın was born in 1976. She studied Photography at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
During her years of study she discovered her passion for wearable objects and thus set her own path. In the attempt to fulfill her passion, she took courses from the jewelry masters at the Grand Bazaar. She went to Italy in order to further her education.
Şenay Akın took courses on jewelry design and gemology at the Scuola d'Arte e Mestieri di Vicenza and did an internship at the Alberta Vita atelier.
In 2007 she launched her first solo exhibition, “Onlar” (Them), and took part in many group exhibitions.
She appeared in various publications among which are the books “New Rings 500+ Designs” and “New Earrings 500+ Designs” by Thames & Hudson.
Şenay Akın continues to create jewelry and offer training at the atelier she founded in Istanbul in 2008. Her works can be found in Turkish and international jewelry galleries.
